Golf

anything goes here for golf, how you have been playing, if you are going on a golf trip soon, whats going on in the PGA, and majors that are coming up, etc etc etc

so the British is coming up this week, just wondering what everyone thinks. i would have to say Tiger is probably my favorite, he's finally played a couple of times since the death of his dad, the course is wide open and can play to his advantage a little bit. i don't think phil is going to do well, even though i would like to see him do well. and the fact is, there is always a chance of some nobody stepping up in the British that nobody has ever heard of and giving it a run for the money.

Played 18 holes yesterday. Snapped my 3 iron at the head on the fairway....

then snapped my 6 iron in two halfway down the shaft. Yeah, not a good day of golf.

ouch, that probably wasn't very fun

i played saturday in qualifying for my club championship, shot 75, qualified for the championship round, had my first match yesterday, played against a 2 handicap got a little nervous on the first two holes, he was up fast, brought it back to even after 9, played tough on the back, he ended up beating me 2 and 1, not too bad, can't complain, my first shot at my club championship, didn't expect too much.

tell you what though, its too fucking hot to be playing golf here in KC right now though

fuck you its too hot down here. played on saturday in 100 degree weather. shot alright, short course that you have to place the ball on. got in some trouble and shot 77. my friend kevin started the day with 5 birdies. shot 29 on the front and ended with a 66 cause of a ball in the water and a three putt on the back.

I am a major golf rube & follow most tours that matter. I still also stand by THIS. They have a quarter of the wins on tour this year, yet make up less than 15% of the PGA tour players.

I played golf, I'm not good at golf, I never got a hole-in-one ... but I did hit a guy. And that's way more satisfying. You're supposed to yell "fore," but I was too busy mumbling, "There ain't no way that's gonna hit him." I hit a guy in one. What's par for hitting a guy? One. If you hit a guy in two, you are an asshole.

Nah, but you have to repect their youth golf program & what they have done to bring their players to the forefront. A few years ago I thought it would have been the Swedes with Fredrik Jacobson, Daniel Chopra, Jesper (Who's getting old), Niclas Fasth, Peter Hedblom, Mathias Gronberg & Richard S. Johnson. However none of them have broken thru. This is still pretty impressive for a country with a population of right at 9million, that's 3 million less than the state of Pennsylvania alone.

I'm a pretty bad golfer only because I dont get out enough, and I tend to drink heavily on the course. I shoot low hundreds and high 90's but I love playing. I can't wait to get out and play again.

Yeah, funny how the 100 degree heat and a few beers won't lower your score, go figure? I'm just a hacker, but I love to play. Sometimes I concentrate try other times I focus on the beer, but always a god time.

I read in the paper that the course in Liverpool is so dry that we could see a few 400 yard drives this weekend. Nice.

I was supposed to go today if it weren't for the scattered thunder storms. gfy1.gif

I don't mind playing in the heat, and I prefer to play in the summer cause the rates are alot cheaper here.
Posted: Jul 20 2006, 11:36 AM
yeah wait until after 1 down here and the rates get chopped almost in half. i love it, cause im usually hung over on a saturday any way so thats another reason to not play so early!
Posted: Jul 20 2006, 12:41 PM
Summer rates up north are the most expensive. It would be an absolute perfect day to play today. 83 partly cloudy, just make sure the beer girl finds me every other hole!.

oh i think its great that he's there, he's a great golfer, obviously, but i still find it funny that he choked the first day, i'm sure he will do better today

I suck at golf. sad.gif But I'm one hell of a beer drinker on the course. drinkup[1].gif

I'm rooting for DiMarco in the British. But I know Tiger will win. I don't think that's such a bad thing, Tiger's been playing great. So if he wins, then that wouldn't be so bad, and good for him. thumbs.gif

I love how Garcia's group got put on the clock on Friday. "Thanks, Sergio, you dick. Just fucking hit the ball."
