Fantastic! Lying, swindling, two-faced Tony Blair has finally stabbed his last ally (G.W.) in the back and announced U.K. troop withdrawls from Iraq. As a long time supporter of the U.S.A. who changed their opinion due to web sites such as this I am delighted.
To those of you who posted anti British comments such as "I stopped reading when I got to British" and "They were only Brits, who cares?" when refering to U.K. casualties in Iraq; well done you've got your wish. The Brits are leaving. Please ensure your M10 pilots cease killing British soldiers forthwith.
To those of you who thought Tony Blair was a friend of Uncle Sam; Sorry, he lied. Same as he did to the U.K. electorate. Turns out he hated you all along. Please be sure to pay $10,000+to hear him lecture in the U.S.A. next year to hear why.

Last time I checked, the US doesn't have a plane or helicopter called the M-10.

My apologies, A-10. The M-10 was of course the Wolverine Tank Hunter.

You're right, those American A-10 pilots clearly targeted UK soldiers, along with the Americans they have also killed in friendly fire.

The wife is dropping it, maybe you should get a life?
At a press conference following the verdict, Mrs Hull said she would not be seeking further legal redress against the pilots or the US military.
Referring to the pilots she said: "I hope that they are at peace in themselves and that they can move on with their lives. I'm sure they are full of remorse for what they did, I hope so, anyway." Anybody that watches that video and has an ounce of common sense can see that it was not a criminal act. Those American pilots will probably never be able to live their lifes after that.

Haven't got a clue have you? I understand that you don't value the lives of service personel from outside the U.S.A., but don't you think it might have been helpful to the court if the U.S. government bothered to send a representative? Then perhaps this sort of incident would happen less often. Have the pilots shown any remorse? We don't know. What we do know is that the U.S. goverment couldn't give a toss.

Why don't you watch the video if you don't believe the pilots showed any remorse. Or have you not even watched the video yet? I care about all the lives of allied servicemembers. But I know it is impossible to completely stop all friendly fire incidents. You think this one soldier is the only one lost in the war to friendly fire? American's die from friendly fire as well, it's tragic and it's investigated. The pilots clearly questioned if there would friendlies in the area, and they made several passes to id the targets. There was no criminal act, nor criminal intent. The video is evidence enough, no American officials needed to be present, because all they would have gotten is harrassed by idiots like yourself who are incapable of rationally viewing evidence.

I agree that in the confusion of war blue on blue incidents will almost certainly occur. The fact that the U.S. government refused to assist the coroners inquiry at every stage and denied evidence (including the video tape) existed when in fact it did. I see you consider anyone asking questions of U.S. personel as idiots and that U.S. military poersonel should not appear in court to give evidence. Does this mean that if one is wearing a U.S. uniform you are not to be held responsible for any of your own actions?
The U.S. government holds non-U.S. personel in contempt, a contempt that appears to be shared by most U.S. citizens.

You just don't get it, something I guess I should expect. You, like the people pushing this case in England only do so to embarass the US. The video clearly shows the confusion, the video clearly shows the remorse, and the video clearly shows the accident. It does no good for a US official to present "evidence" in this manner, he would be ridiculed and be a target for typical anti-American language that we have become accustomed to. It happened, it's tragic, and I hope the wife is able to continue the legacy of her husband. She seems able to move on, because as the wife of a military member, she knows how her husband would feel if he killed a friendly soldier. The only criminal act comes from the coronor who is clearly anti-American and slandering the US government with the evidence contridicting his outrageous claims. Frankly it doesn't matter what happens because your hatred of the US overshadows your ability to logic and reason.

Yeah, yeah. In the best tradition od despots everywhere. Are you a supporter of Robert Mugabe also? As I said at the start I was always a believer and supporter in the strong ties between the U.K. and the U.S. but I have no faith whatsoever now. This case is just the latest symptom of a rot that set in years ago. The sooner U.K. troops are pulled out of Iraq the better.
