Back in the Day..

Reminiscing games and shit..

Oh come on!!! Don't tell me you weren't a High School freshman or a Junior High School student and didn't play any type of games.. Don't be embarrassed, I'm sure a lot of you dudes have played games as a kid one time or another.. So go over it, and I'll go over mine as a kid if we get some participation. I know I wasn't some above all kid who though games were dorky back then, I was bored as the next kid, playing basketball, football and then playing games.. Before I was a part time criminal doing stupid shit around the city, it's what I did... tongue.gif

Edit: I'm not certain if there is another thread like this, so don't be too harsh.. rolleyes.gif And as for the criminal shit, it was nothing serious, just petty shit such as shoplifting, joyriding and some fighting.. Just shit you do when you're bored as fuck.. guns.gif

Basically... What video games did you play as a kid? Yeah I understand what you mean now, saying I played basketball then games is confusing.. In these parts we say games which is short for video games..

I had a ColecoVision back in the day, for my first system. I think I had a football game, and something else. Then I got the Atari 2600 and played Pacman, Frogger, Circus, Asteroids, pole position, etc. Then I upgraded to the Sega Master System. I spent countless hours playing Columns, Outrun, ThunderBlade, Afterburner, ESWAT, Alex Kidd, Shinobi. I got a NES at about the same time. A buddy and I used to play Contra on that thing continuosly. Also, I spent about a whole summer playing Super Mario Bros. 3

I use to play the hell out of some Tecmo Bowl. I got into some of the old school RPGs for a while, Secret of the Mana, Chrono Trigger etc.

But I was only allowed to play em at my Dads house growing up, So I spent all week at my moms playing sports, and when I would visit my Dad I would game. It worked out cause I think I ended up balanced and not a complete gamer nerd smile.gif.

The really only game that consumed my friends and I for a few years was NBA Jam, and the first James Bond game. One of their parents had a projector TV, so playing Bond on their for 12 hours or more was a regular occurance.

Atari: Galaga, Space Invaders, Defender, Combat, Dig Dug
NES: SMB 1-3, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Blaster Master, Top Gun, Castlevania 1-2, Contra, Ninja Gaiden

Sega Gensis and Super NES were my old school systems. I temporarily grew out of video games about my sophomore year of highschool when I started drive, but then picked it right back up when PS2 cameout. I think I can count on one hand how many times I played PS1
