So I like both of their new videos
Franz Ferdinand's "Take Me Out"
and
Modest Mouse's "Float On"
but they kinda look similar eh?
Both retro/collage style and even the melodies are distincly
alike.
Fluke or conspiracy?

yeah, I noticed that too. Weird. Maybe they have the same director, although I don't know how you would direct that collage type of video.

I heard that "take me out" song yesterday on the radio. At first I was like... um ok, it's another band trying to be the Strokes. Then I listened to the rest of the song and it was awesome. The musical changes of beats in that song are really good. Anyways... Modest Mouse I don't think is anything like that Franz band. Have you heard Modest Mouse's older stuff? From years ago? They are unique as hell. I don't think they are alike at all.
OR- are you talking about the video then? I havent' seen the video... ok, I'm an idiot. But the Modest Mouse video actually reminds me of the Smashing Pumpkins video... tonight tonight i think.

Modest Mouse has been around for ages
(I'm not sure they've ever had a vid tho)
But I just thought it strange that these
videos from 2 completely different bands
had stuff in common.
Who's next?
Korn and Outkast???

Tonight Tonight was the first thing I thought of when I saw that video too...the very paper-cutout nature of it. But the song, yah, when I heard Franz Ferdinand for the first time I confused it with the Modest Mouse song. I hadn't, in my defense, ever heard either band before. The Franz song does get a little more hard-jammin towards the middle and end tho, but it is a strange slice of timing. Are there any other videos that fit the pattern?
